Navela 1.5mg is indicated as emergency contraception up to 72 hours after unprotected sexual intercourse or in case of failure of a contraceptive method.
Active substances: levonorgestrel.
At the recommended dose, levonorgestrel is thought to work primarily by preventing ovulation and fertilization if intercourse took place in the pre-ovulatory phase, when the likelihood of fertilization is greatest. It can also cause changes in the endometrium that prevent the egg from implanting. Navela is not effective once the egg implantation process has started.
