Vilco Ichthammol Ointement is a drawing ointment used for localized care of boils, inflamed spots, insect bites and minor skin irritation. Its composition includes Ichthammol 10% in a topical ointment base.
Apply a thin layer to the affected area and cover with clean gauze when useful. Wash hands after application; avoid the eyes, mucous membranes, deep wounds and serious burns.
Local redness, burning, dryness or contact dermatitis may occur. The dark ointment can stain skin and fabrics. Seek medical or pharmaceutical advice if symptoms are severe, persistent or worsening.
